Little Owls is a progression from Fledglings. Little Owls are exploring more of the world around them, needing to challenge themselves and build on the skills already learned to push them further in their individual development, which they can do within a safe environment.
We have a large role play area where children at this age are starting to develop verbal skills at a rapid rate. The role play area allows children to use these language skills in real-life scenarios and problem-solve through play. These areas are changed throughout the year based on a combination of the curriculum and the children’s interests, allowing our Little Owls to use their imagination in play.
The book area is filled with an abundance of reading materials to inspire them to enjoy reading and literacy. Using stories, we hope to build on language development and comprehension. We also have a quiet area to children to rest or play alone should they so wish.
Our aim is to really encourage independence ready for pre-school, build up their resilience – have a go, keep trying and their self-confidence will benefit greatly.
